Below is the list of Ocean County youth groups currently running and/or starting in Spring 2024. Some of the groups have a fee while some of the groups are free. Feel free to share with the families you serve.
Game Changers - A boys social emotional learning group for ages 11-14 years old. The group is both FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. Begins 3/16 – 4/30/2024 – 5-6:30pm at the Ocean County Youth Center. To register, fill out the OPC Youth Group Registration and Participation Consent Form and complete Questionnaire. Birds of a Feather – birding group for child/caregiver relationship building – starts March 30th for 6 weeks on Saturdays from 10am-12pm at Cattus Island - For more information, see OPC website and attached flyer.
Girls Empowerment Group – Free and confidential 7-week groups for girls focusing on friendships, healthy self-esteem, and confidence. Held every Tuesday 430-6pm May 7th – June 18th at Ocean County Youth Center 155 Sunset Ave Toms River. For more information, see OPC website and attached flyer in English and Spanish.
Your Authentic Self (YAS) - PFLAG Jersey Shore collaborates with Ocean Partnership for Children (OPC) to provide the YAS, Too for children ages 8-12 & YAS, Teen for teens ages 13-18. YAS is hosted in partnership with PFLAG Jersey Shore and Ocean Partnership for Children for parents and youth to receive support in a safe and welcoming environment. Youth will attend the “Your Authentic Self Group” while parents attend the PFLAG Jersey Shore Group simultaneously. Groups are held in person on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:00. OPC Connections - social group for youth with IDD needs between ages 10-21, with an I/DD diagnosis. 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 5pm- 6pm at OPC office - 36 Washington St, Toms River. For more information, see OPC website and attached flyer in English and Spanish.
Ocean County Family Support Organization’s Youth Partnership – YP members meet to share personal experience, support and teach each other about mental illness. Groups are open to youth between the ages of 10 and 12 for Junior YP and 13-21 for YP living in Ocean County with behavioral and/or emotional challenges. Camp Excel
Social Skills Saturday Program – ages 5-17 with ADHD, ASD, and other social skills challenges; held every Saturday either 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM or 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM. Location: Christian Brothers Academy. Group is $115/week. https://campexcel.com/social-skills-groups/
Young Adult Social Group – ages 17 and up with ADHD, ASD, and other social skills challenges; held every Saturday from 11:15 – 12:15. Location: Christian Brothers Academy. Group is $100/week. https://campexcel.com/young-adult-social-group/
Spread Your Wings Mindfulness in the Community and Grounding Your Emotions - three groups on Wednesdays from 5/1/2024 - 6/19/2024 at the Ocean County Youth Center 155 Sunset Ave, Toms River:
Grounding Our Emotions – 4-5pm for 6–13-year-olds
I Am Enough - Wednesdays – 5-6pm for 6–14-year olds
Mindfulness within the Self –6-7pm for 4–7-year-olds

Ocean County Social Skills Group - Social skills groups for youth ages 7-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other social skills deficits.
